A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“The cabin itself was nice. Unfortunately, there was no heat, and the fireplace stopped working, so we were without heat for about 11 hours. The maintenance person acted like it was an inconvenience to come and get the fireplace working. Wifi is terrible. If you don't want to watch TV, then it won't be a problem. Fishing is very good.”
“My husband and I spent 12 days in the Pine cabin and visited the surrounding areas. These cabins are a true representation of the beauty of the Kentucky mountains. Built by a very bright men to achieve its natural beaut and ran by some amazing folks. We totally recommend staying here. The peace, the natural beauty and the many trails. Thank you Mrs Pattie and Mr. Larry It was a pleasure to stay with y’all Nick and Bea”
“I’ve lived in Kentucky my whole life and still find surprises like Mountain Laurel Lake. A family member in Webster , Ky. recommended I stay there while visiting for a wedding event. I stayed in the Beech cabin and found it to be clean and comfortable. Enough parking for 3 cars, with two at cabin level down a slightly steep hill and one upper spot at access road level, with a stepped hillside leading to cabin. I parked at lower level and found that I could 3 point turn to face out so leaving cabin was easier than trying to back out up a blind hill. One caveat, Tv service is provided by Antennae, so there’s a spotty signal. Who needs a Tv anyway when your there to “Unplug” ….There is a lovely Octagonal roofed side deck addition to the wrap around porch. A Propane grill sits right outside the kitchen/ dining space. Unfortunately, It rained for the two days I was there so no luck fishing, but saw plenty of movement in the stocked lake. Since it’s private , no license required. The setting is peaceful and there are extensive hiking trails throughout the property. The owner was very kind and responsive to all my communications during the booking process. I will definitely visit this easily accessible paradise in the woods west of Fort Knox.”
“It was a beautiful place to spend time away from the craziness of life. The cabins are very nice and if you enjoy fishing, this is the place to go! I highly recommend Mountain Laurel to everyone! Go check it out you won't be disappointed!”
“This is by far one of my absolute favorite places to vacation! It’s only about an hour and a half drive from our home in Southern Indiana, but it feels like you’ve stepped into a whole different world once you’re there. My family has been vacationing here for nearly 30 years, and it never loses its charm. The peaceful Kentucky countryside is the perfect escape from the noise and busyness of everyday life. The rolling hills, quiet mornings, and fresh air make it so easy to relax and recharge. It’s private, quiet, and full of simple joys — fishing with my husband, playing board games late into the night, or just sitting outside listening to the sounds of nature. My mamaw and I love working on puzzles during the day while taking in the beautiful views. Every visit feels like a step back in time, where life slows down and you can truly be present with the people you love. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect, and soak up the beauty of the Kentucky countryside, this is the perfect getaway. I can’t recommend it enough! P.S. they provide you a boat to fish with, as well!”
“I've been going here 20+ years. It is a piece of heaven on earth. Cabins are all great! It's very quiet and the sky, oh the sky at night is gorgeous! There's a boat, for the private lake, at every cabin included in price. Appliances are all kept up as is everything! It's beautiful and so are the owners, Patti and Larry. We love it!”
“I have to say you have so much to do here just walking around the trail was amazing veiws! I definitely would be coming back here! Veiws so worth thr boat amazing!”
